Within ourselves we are looking for our place, our "there". Through this searching we may find our place only to return later and realize that it has changed and is no longer what it was. It is a constant, infinite search for an ever evolving place in ourselves that we can call our being, our self, our there. Each time we come back we find something new and find parts of ourselves have become only hinted echos of our former selves. Change is inevitable, both inside and outside, this is the continuum of "there" and its entangled connection with the continuum of "here" in the present moment. The moment of now is all that it is and all that it will ever be. Revel in it for all that it is, as it is.

Inspired by the book "A Search for There", by Stephen Kennedy.


A contemplative, ambient album created for meditation and self reflection. Similar to the flow of thoughts and memories, the performance techniques for the album utilized algorithm based random sample triggering with computer, and algorithm based performance by hand.

This is a music soundtrack created for a video art installation about insects. They are the largest variety of species on the planet, they make up the largest biomass of living things on the planet, they are amazing creatures that keep life on earth functioning.

Iapetus is a project about transitions. I grew up surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean with the rocks of an ancient seabed beneath my feet. There is a tangible connection to those rocks of ancient seabed, they hold the iron of a precambrian red ocean, iron atoms that were once attached to the oxygen we breath. These mountains that had a large influence on me, and this is a series of compositions about the ocean that stood upon them a long time before I did.

The Iapetus Ocean preceded the Atlantic Ocean before the continents came together then apart again. Named after the Titan in Greek mythology who is held to be an ancestor of humanity, Iapetus brings to mind not only earth origins, but the cycles at the heart of nature - from those in geologic time, to the continuous cycle of water through its various forms on earth. As in any cycle, there is a return to the point of beginning — our Iapetus.
